Spanish radio station Cadena 100 has hit the jackpot! In the Social Radio newsletter, which each week analyses the best-performing content on more than 40 European radio stations, Spanish radio station Cadena 100 is appearing more and more with a fairly classic radio format where they ask children questions and listen to the answers.
The sequence is really funny every time. The questions can be totally unusual, such as “Which cartoon character do you hate the most”, or related to news. The answers are just as funny, with the children cast so well.
And the video adaptation is simple and effective. It starts with the host asking the question on camera. Then it switches to a split screen with images apparently generated by AI at the bottom to illustrate the answer and the live team’s reactions at the top. Subtitles are used throughout.
The ‘Los Ninos y Jimeno’ videos work just as well on Meta as they do on TikTok and YouTube Shorts. On Meta, they get around 200,000 views for each episode, compared with the 30-100k usually seen on other content. On TikTok and YouTube, they exceed 50k views. Each video is also heavily commented on, which is why it’s such a success.
