Global is adding six podcasts to its Plus subscription
The British radio group Global is expanding its Plus subscription service to include six new podcast brands. This includes ad-free listening and exclusive content on Global Player and YouTube. The new additions are James O’Brien, My Therapist Ghosted Me, The Crime Agents, The Sports Agents, The Wittering Whitehalls and Vogue & Amber. They join the existing offerings centred around Nick Abbot’s ‘The Whole Show’ and the Formula 1 podcast ‘Up To Speed’.
A subscription under the name of its presenter, James O’Brien Plus, provides ad-free access to his podcasts *Full Disclosure*, *James O’Brien Daily*, *The Whole Show* and *Mystery Hour*. It also includes two brand-new series, *Ask James Anything* and *James Reacts*, as well as two exclusive newsletters per month. Meanwhile, The Crime Agents Plus will feature a monthly investigation into a major criminal case. According to Craig Hunter, managing director of Global Studios, these subscriptions will operate like a members’ club, offering Q&A sessions, additional analysis and behind-the-scenes content. The focus is on superfans: those who want a more direct connection with a presenter.
Global does not limit its offering to its own app and reaches out to its audience where they already spend their time by offering these subscriptions directly on YouTube.
